Also called "adlay", Chinese pearl barley or Job's tears, Adlai rice is considered to be the heirloom grain in Asia. This pouch contains Adlai Grits locally grown and cultivated in the Highlands of Bukidnon. A "Gulian" variety, The Green Tummy (TGT) Adlai has a soft, chewy, mildly sweet, and earthly flavor. It's similar to al dente pasta and fluffy rice but the grains are a bit larger. Its nutritive value is becoming famous, making it a great rice alternative for Filipinos.

HEALTH BENEFITS:

Adlai rice is rich in fiber, packed with proteins and lots of minerals. It is also good for aiming for weight loss because of its high food energy content.

HOW TO USE:

Although a great meal on its own, (TGT) Adlai Grits can also be used for soups and salads or as a base for a variety of savory dishes. It is a healthy gluten-free alternative for those who love white rice and pasta but are on a diet.

TO COOK:

1.) Rinse grains and boil 1 cup of TGT Adlai to 2 cups of water.

2.) Adjust water volume for grain density preference.

3.) Add more liquid for a softer texture.

HOW TO STORE:

Once opened, Adlai should be stored in a cool, dry place in a tightly closed container that keeps out dust, moisture, and other contaminants.
