FIC is pre-produced in the factory, so there is no need to use epoxy, polishing, and crimping in the field. This makes fiber terminations fast, easy and reliable. Fiber optic connectors (FOC) carry information using entirely optical (light based) technology. They comprise so-called light guides which are made of transparent components such as glass or plastic to transport optical signals in the form of light. To perform the optical transmission in the connection, the individual fibers are connected to each other with maximum precision.
