HEALTH BENEFITS:
Adding baking with almond flour into your routine will provide you with an assortment of health benefits and help you cut back on carbs. It's incredibly nutritious and particularly rich in Vitamin E, an antioxidant that aids in the brain, eye, skin, and reproductive health. Almond Flour's low glycemic properties and high magnesium content may not only help prevent migraines but help control blood sugar in people with or without type 2 diabetes. Plus, almond flour's high niacin content is helpful for those suffering from inflammation associated with arthritis. Health-wise, almond flour is a good bang for your buck!
HOW TO USE:
Almond flour is an ingredient you'll want to keep on your radar. It adds texture and flavor and is well-loved by those following a paleo diet. If creative baking is in your future, try using almond flour recipes to experiment with French pastries like macaroons. Or — for a divine dessert — use almond flour in place of graham cracker crumbs for a non-bake pie crust. Make pleasantly crumbly, buttery biscuits, fluffy pancakes, chewy-crisps cookies, or incredibly fudgy brownies with our TGT Almond Flour! In addition, it can also be added to a variety of savory dishes, like meatballs (instead of bread crumbs) as well as a coating for fish and chicken.
BAKING TIP:
Keep an eye on your baked foods! Anything you bake with almond flour will brown and cook faster than all-purpose flour so, keep an eye on it so it doesn’t burn. This also means you should follow recipes closely in regard to cooking temperatures too. If you are trying to remake a recipe that has wheat flour, expect a thicker end result. But, don’t try to thin it down with liquids either. That will just make it a huge soggy mess. Thick batters from almond flour will not pour and you will be required to spread the batter out. Yet the recipe turns out a perfectly baked cake.
HOW TO STORE:
Storing almond flour is similar to storing coconut flour. As long as the almond flour is unopened, you can store it safely in the pantry. Keep the product away from heat and light. The darker the storage area is, the better. Almond flour has a high level of oil, making it more prone to oxidizing and going rancid. To maintain freshness, best to store opened pack of Almond Flour in the fridge. But before doing this, we recommend transferring to airtight containers. Chilly temps tend to draw moisture into the product and cause powdered products to clump.
